SOME MITIGATION OPTIONS:

To mitigate the increasing population and consumption pressures on global resources, here are some options:
* hasten the transition from depletable fuels (fossil and fissile) to renewable energy sources
* stabilize population before 2050
* stabilize resource consumption
* distribute existing global resources more equitably
* minimize migration of people from developing countries to industrial countries
* improve the quality of life for all peoples
* moderate consumerism and promote frugality
* slow the rush to free trade and globalization

ENERGY POLICY OPTIONS:
U.S. Energy Policy:
* Drain Arabia First

SOURCES OF RENEWABLE ENERGY:

Ocean Energy:
* Demise of federal R&D on ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC)
